--- Files Defined --- 1. sandisk.zip - The fully compressed software package you purchased. 2. log_9.txt - This file records all conversions performed on this phone. 3. /sandisk directory - This is where the entire software package resides after being decompressed. 4. Inside the /sandisk directory you will find the following: a. /z directory - This is where all of the VIDEO MP3 data files exist. Do NOT touch these files. b. flasher.apk - This is the file you click on to install the "Flasher" app you'll be using to perform all of your conversions. c. upgrade.hex - This is the MP3 ONLY firmware upgrade file you'll copy to the root of any MP3 you want to jailbreak for MP3 only. d. us212a.fw - This is the intermediary firmware file you'll be using for every type conversion, whether MP3 only or VIDEO. **** BEFORE YOU PROCEED **** 1. Click on the Flasher.apk file in the /sandisk directory to install the Flasher App on this phone. 2. Verify that there is NO SDcard in the MP3 you're going to convert. 3. Connect the phone end of the OTG cable to the phone, leaving the MP3 end of the cable disconnected. --- Video Player Conversion Instructions --- 1. Launch the Flasher app. 2. Click "OPEN" 3. Browse to the /sandisk directory where your "us212a.fw" file resides. 4. Click on "us212a.fw" 5. Click "OPEN DIR" 6. Browse to the /z sub-directory under your /sandisk directory. 7. Click on the very top file, probably named "12501.tbl" *** Verify that your MP3 is powered OFF and that there is NO SDcard in its slot. 8. While holding down the VOLUME UP button on the MP3, plug in the OTG cable to the MP3. You can let up the volume button after about 1 second. 9. The MP3 will power up and connect to the phone. You will receive a message asking if Flasher can connect to your device. Click "Yes" 10. The "WRITE" button will illuminate and become clickable. Click "WRITE" 11. You will be presented with the question: "Allow Flasher to access null?" Click "Yes" 12. The video firmware upgrade will begin and run for 30 to 45 seconds. 13. Once the upgrade is complete, disconnect the MP3 player from the OTG. It's done and ready for use. *** MP3 ONLY Conversion Instructions *** 1. Launch the Flasher app you've installed on the phone. 2. Click "OPEN" 3. Browse to the /sandisk directory where the "us212a.fw" resides. 4. Click "us212a.fw" **NOTE - For an MP3 ONLY conversion you will NOT click on the OPEN DIR button at any time. 5. Press and hold the VOLUME UP button on the MP3 while you connect the OTG cable to the MP3. Release the volume button after about 1 second. The MP3 will boot into Firmware Upgrade mode. 6. The MP3 will power up and connect to the phone. You will receive a message asking if Flasher can connect to your device. Click "Yes" 7. The "WRITE" button will illuminate and become clickable. Click "WRITE" 8. You will be presented with the question: "Allow Flasher to access null?" Click "Yes" 9. The firmware upgrade will begin and run for 30 to 45 seconds. 10. Once the conversion is finished, exit Flasher and open a file manager app on the phone. 11. COPY the "upgrade.hex" file located in the /sandisk directory to the ROOT of the attached MP3. 12. Once the copy is completed, disconnect the OTG cable and power-cycle the MP3. 13. The MP3 will boot to a screen with Chinese text and a green picture of music notes. Press the UP button on the center keypad until there is a green picture of a Cog. Click the center button. 14. A new menu with lines in Chinese will open. Press the UP button until you see the English word "language". Center click on language. 15. Press the UP button until you see English. Click on it. 16. Press the RIGHT button to go back to the menu with the green Cog picture. 17. Press the UP button until you see the green picture of the crossed green hammer and wrench. Click the CENTER button. 18. Click the UP arrow until you highlight "Auto upgrade". Click the CENTER button. 19. It will ask you if you want to "proceed with upgrade.hex?" Click "Yes" 20. The upgrade will take 20 to 30 seconds and then will restart automatically. --- Your device is now ready for use!
